1. Project status

SoloScape ("the Site", "we", "us") is a non-commercial fan game inspired by classic browser-era massively multiplayer online roleplaying games of the mid-2000s. The Site is independently operated and remains in active beta development. Use of the Site is at the user's own risk.

2. Non-affiliation

SoloScape is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with Jagex Limited. "RuneScape", "Old School RuneScape", and "Jagex" are trademarks or registered trademarks of Jagex Limited. References to those marks on this Site are descriptive nominative uses only and do not imply any endorsement.

Visual elements ported from open-source 2006-era RuneScape fan reconstructions are used under those projects' open-source licensing terms as part of a non-commercial fan tribute. Original artwork credit remains with Jagex Limited. If a rights-holder requests removal of any element, see Section 7 below for our takedown process.

3. Licensing of original work

All original artwork, source code, written content, and game-design materials authored by SoloScape contributors are licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3 or later (GPL-3.0-or-later). The full license text is included in the repository under LICENSE.

4. No real-money trading

Accounts, items, in-game currency, experience, levels, ranks, character names, or any other in-game asset associated with the Site are not for sale and have no real-world cash value. The Site does not facilitate, condone, or recognise any third-party trade of these items for real currency. Attempts to buy, sell, or trade accounts or items for real currency may result in immediate account suspension.

Where the Site operates a "bonds" mechanic in the future (see Transparency), bonds will be priced at audited break-even with hosting and payment-processing costs only. Any surplus is donated. Bonds are tradeable in-game for in-game currency only.

5. No warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators of the Site shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, savings, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) use of or inability to use the Site; (ii) any unauthorised access to or alteration of user data; (iii) statements or conduct of any third party on the Site; or (iv) any other matter relating to the Site.

7. Takedown / DMCA

If you believe content on the Site infringes your intellectual property rights, contact dmca@soloscape.local with the following information: (a) identification of the work claimed to be infringed; (b) identification of the material on the Site that you claim is infringing and its location; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised; (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder.

We aim to acknowledge bona-fide takedown requests within forty-eight (48) hours and act on them within seven (7) days. If a request would require complete shutdown of the Site, we will comply unless we believe in good faith that the use is fair, in which case we may seek counsel and respond accordingly.

8. Account responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. SoloScape staff will never ask for your password. Reports of compromised accounts should go to security@soloscape.local.

9. Changes

We may amend this disclaimer from time to time. Material changes will be summarised on the Transparency changelog. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised text.

10. Governing law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, this disclaimer is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Site operator is domiciled, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
